Auto Accidents

Neck  pain and back pain can result from injury to the muscles of ligaments of the spine.  Sometimes the discs that separate each bone of the spine may cause pain by putting pressure on a nearby nerve.  Back and neck pain may appear after a sudden twisting/bending force, such as in a car accident.

Because of the strong forces that may be involved in a car accident, it is important that you watch for any new symptoms that may be a sign of hidden injury.

Follow these instructions carefully:

1. A car accident can be emotionally upsetting even when you are not injured.  Take time to rest and adjust to what  has happened. Talking to others about your experience can help reduce anxiety and fear.

2. You may feel sore and tight in your muscles the following day.  However, severe pain should be addressed immediately.

3. The use of ice for the first 24-48 hours can prevent swelling and reduce pain.

It is recommended that you contact Aquino Chiropractic immediately if you begin to experience any of the following symptoms:

* Headaches or visual problems

* New or worsening neck, back or radiating pain or numbness

* Dizziness, nausea, disorientation

* Trouble swallowing

* Excessive fatigue

If involved in an accident, our experienced health care professionals will do everything possible to address your condition and concerns, and implement a treatment program to reduce your symptoms and stabilize your condition in the shortest period of time.  Our office will refer you to a medical specialist if needed.

Our after hours emergency phone number is available if you wish to speak to the doctor in the evening or on weekends.
